our lakepointe story

In an old bait house more than 40 years ago, 7 dedicated families humbly started Lakepointe Church. They had one goal; to start a church that would serve the young families moving into their community. Now over 25,000 people meet each week in 2 languages across our 6 DFW locations, and the spirit of the 7 families can still be felt today. Additionally, God has used Lakepointe to reach beyond our DFW communities and plant 57 churches in the most spiritually hard-to-reach cities across the United States.

The heartbeat of Lakepointe is…

To create environments and experiences that welcome and engage attendees at each of our locations. Our goal is for Lakepointe to be a place you can call home. To do that, we’ve created “small churches” within the church, through our Life Groups. This is where real honest relationships are formed as you grow together in Christ.

To create opportunities to support our mission partners all over the world. Our heart is to step into the gaps in our communities and be ambassadors of the Gospel. Today, thanks to the generosity of the people of Lakepointe, we are able to resource and support over 35 local, 40 national and 18 international partners.

To train the next generation of church leaders in our School of Ministry. Through theological training, spiritual formation and ministry experience, we will be able to equip young ministry leaders to go out and reach people for Jesus across the world.

We believe that Lakepointe is a movement for all people to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover their Calling, and Make a Difference. With 6 DFW locations and programs for all ages, there's something for everyone. We're so glad you're here!

Our kids ministry exists to help kids come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We believe that if the church and family work together, a child has the best chance of growing to know, love and follow Jesus. This is a place where kids birth – grade 5 can explore God’s Word and experience His love each week.

We believe that every student should be in an authentic relationship with Jesus and given the opportunity to Find Freedom in a community of other believers. Through weekly programming, we are able to build up future leaders, allowing them to discover God’s call on their life and Make a Difference in the lives around them.

It takes a team! Lakepointe has a team of leaders, both on stage and behind the scenes, who are passionate about serving the people of Lakepointe and the surrounding communities. This dynamic team, led by Senior Pastor Josh Howerton, is made up of our Board of Elders, Strategic Leadership Team as well as campus pastors who serve at each of our locations. We also have an incredible team of Student and Children’s Pastors who are devoted to sharing the Gospel with the next generation.

what we believe

These principles guide our worship, fellowship, and service to the community and serve as the foundation of our faith. As a church, we stand firm in the belief that the words written below accurately reflect our values and teachings.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe during His First Advent, our Lord Jesus Christ voluntarily left the glories of Heaven, taking upon Himself full and perfect humanity in His incarnation.

BAPTISM

We believe baptism is a public proclamation of faith and new life in Jesus Christ. It is an outward public testimony of an inward invisible transformation.

PEOPLE

We believe God created humans, both male and female, in His perfect image.

SALVATION

We believe salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ is a redemptive process wholly of God, in which believers participate solely on the basis of His grace through their faith in Jesus.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit permanently indwells all believers, fulfilling His regenerating work of the new birth unto eternal life.

THE BIBLE

We believe the 66 books, which compose the canon of Holy Scripture, to be the sole authority of our faith and practice.
