WHY ONE WEEK OF CAMP?

We believe hosting all students at camp for one week is going to provide the best camp experience for our students. Glorieta Adventure camp has it all, including enough space to provide a separate and unique experience for middle and high school students while at the same location. It will also help families with busy summer schedules ensure that they have time for camp and family fun.

WHAT DOES GLORIETA ADVENTURE CAMP HAVE TO OFFER?

Students will enjoy exclusive use of this beautiful 2400-acre property overlooking the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico. Glorieta Adventure Camp provides over 30 unique activities for students during their free time.  This facility can accommodate over 2000 people overnight. All meals are provided in family style dining.

WILL MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BE TOGETHER?

While all students will experience United Camp the same week and on the same property, we’ve created a unique schedule for both High School and Middle School students tailored to each age group. They will also all worship together each evening. All other planned activities (including meal times) will be separate.

WHAT ARE THE STUDENT HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS LIKE?

Students and leaders will enjoy bunk-style lodging in dorms. Each room features bunk beds with in-room sinks and a shared toilet and shower area. We will house students in designated areas for each age group (middle and high school) and gender. Students will provide their own bedding.

HOW WILL STUDENTS TRAVEL TO CAMP?

Students and leaders will travel to camp via chartered motorcoaches. We estimate a 12-hour trip from the Dallas area with a departure time of 6:30 am on June 30, and a return time of 7:00 pm on July 4. Times are approximations and are subject to change.

WHY IS THE EVENT ENDING ON A HOLIDAY?

We are thrilled for the opportunity to provide the exclusive use of Glorieta Adventure camp to our students and allow them to all attend camp the same week! Camp dates are determined by school district, church and camp schedules and this was the best available time this year. Event dates are evaluated on an annual basis and may change from year to year.

SHOULD MY STUDENT BRING EXTRA MONEY?

Registration costs include all meals and housing. Your student doesn’t need to bring any extra money to have a great time! There are plenty of free activities to keep them engaged and having fun. However, most students will bring some extra money to purchase T-shirts, snacks and for our missions offering at the end of camp.

IS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE?

We do offer financial assistance for families that are unable to pay the full cost of camp. We generally ask for half of the registration cost and Lakepointe can assist with the other half. If there are extenuating circumstances, a different amount can be considered.

WHAT IS THE CORE TAKEAWAY/GOAL FOR EACH PERSON WHO ATTENDS THE CAMP?

The goal is for students to grow in their walk with the Lord or make a first-time commitment to Him. Also, students will get plugged in to a small group while at camp that will continue once home.
