WEEK ONE

ISAIAH 64:1-2

Friday, September 6

“If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

Exodus 15:26

We encounter God through another name when He first revealed Himself as Yahweh Rophe, the Lord who Heals. The children of Israel encountered the Lord who Heals when they were in a moment of bitterness. If we are not careful, we can allow the sickness of our soul or body to turn us bitter.

PRAY FOR SELF:
God, I want to become more like you, but growth is often hindered by ailments of my body and soul. Reveal yourself to me as the Lord who Heals. I ask that you provide healing for the sickness I may encounter. Provide rest in my weariness. Provide forgiveness for my sin. Reveal your power in me for your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAY FOR CHURCH:
God, we ask that you release your power so that we may witness spiritual and physical healing among our church. May we be a church that is anchored to your Word and hungry for your Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit, heal. In Jesus’ name, amen.
