WEEK THREE

1 CORINTHIANS 4:20

Monday, September 16

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.”

James 5:16-17

Elijah was human, just like us. Does that mean he was sinful? Weak? Lacking in faith? Yes! But he had an encounter with a great, powerful God. So he prayed and God answered his prayer. Because God does that—He answers prayers! What is that one bold thing you have been hesitant to ask of God?

PRAY FOR SELF:
God, I confess that my prayers are often restricted by my limited vision. I recognize you are a great, powerful God and you are able to answer my bold prayers. Today I bring my bold prayer to you. Reveal yourself in such a big way that you alone will receive all the glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAY FOR CHURCH:
God, we pray that we may be a church that is not afraid to pray big bold prayers. We pray for revival. We pray for signs and wonders. We pray for holiness. We pray for our city and our nation. We pray that your Kingdom may come and that your will be done on earth and in our church, as it is in Heaven. In Jesus’ name, amen.
