WEEK TWO

PSALM 16:11

Saturday, September 14

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

John 15:12-13

We have been commanded to love one another just as we have been loved by Jesus. Love is not our default setting. When we encounter the living God, He gives us the ability to love through the power of the Holy Spirit. When we love one another, we become a powerful witness to our community.

PRAY FOR SELF:
God, I want to love like you, but I often fail. Give me the power to love others. Show me how to build bridges and intentionally pursue relationships with people who are different than me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAY FOR CHURCH:
God, we pray that you may empower your church to be like Jesus as we seek to serve the people around us, our friends, families, and our city. We ask for courage and boldness as we stand in your truth, as we share about your love and grace with others around us. Give us the opportunity to invite others to Encounter. In Jesus’ name, amen.
