Day 18 | SUNDAY, September 7
Written by Paul Cunningham
Will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?
luke 18:7
PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING BREAKS
There’s a kind of prayer that’s polite—quick, easy and casual. And then there’s the kind of prayer that moves Heaven. The kind that refuses to let go until something changes.
Jesus told a story about a persistent widow who kept coming to a judge, demanding justice. She didn’t quit. She didn’t give up. And eventually, even the unjust judge gave in—not because he cared, but because she wouldn’t stop. How much more will your Heavenly Father respond to those who cry out to Him day and night?
Breakthroughs rarely come in the first round. But too often, we stop praying just short of the miracle. We lose heart. We think it’s not working. But God sees every cry. He hears every whisper. And He honors persistent faith.
This season is not about formulaic prayers. It’s about desperation.
It’s about showing up again and again, bringing your heart to the throne, and trusting that God is at work—even when you don’t see it yet. Keep praying. Keep pressing. Don’t stop until something breaks.
PRAY
Father, increase my endurance in prayer. Give me the faith to keep asking, keep seeking and keep knocking.
I believe you are a good Father who hears and responds. I will not stop praying. I trust you, even when the answer delays.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
