Frequently Asked Questions

Is Night to Shine different than Soar Prom?

Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is a celebration event centered on God's love, honoring and valuing people with special needs around the world. Honored guests will experience the same celebration, activities and care they know and love from Soar Prom.

What can attendees expect?

Each honored guest at Night to Shine will be celebrated through:

  • Hair, makeup, nails, shoeshine, and flower stations
  • A red-carpet entrance with cheering paparazzi
  • Dinner, dessert and lots of dancing!
  • Karaoke and party bus rides
  • A crowning ceremony where each guest receives a crown or tiara
  • Sensory Room and Crafts for those who would like a break from the crowd
Will my attendee have a buddy?

Yes! Every honored guest is paired with their very own buddy for the entire evening. Buddies are carefully selected and trained volunteers who provide one-on-one companionship, encouragement, and support, helping each guest feel celebrated, comfortable, and safe throughout the event.

What should I wear?

Guests are encouraged to dress in whatever makes them feel special and comfortable! Many choose formal or semi-formal attire, but there is no required dress code. Whether you want to wear a suit, a dress, or something that helps you move easily and enjoy the evening, it’s completely up to you. We’ll also have hair, nails, makeup, shoeshine, and accessory stations onsite for anyone who would like a little extra sparkle before the big red carpet moment.

Will dinner be provided?

Yes! A delicious dinner will be provided for all honored guests. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will be available so everyone feels safe and included. Parents and caretakers will also enjoy a meal and entertainment at Night to Respite.

Does Night to Shine cost anything?

Night to Shine is a free event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and made possible by our generous members and attenders; there is no charge to attend.

What is Night to Respite?

Night to Respite is a companion event to Night to Shine, created to honor and support the parents and caregivers of individuals with special needs. While their loved ones enjoy the prom experience at Night to Shine, caregivers are invited to a relaxing, joy-filled evening designed especially for them.

What to expect:

  • Dinner and refreshments
  • Entertainment by comedian Dorie McLemore
  • Giveaways and gifts
  • Quiet seating areas for conversation and rest
  • Friendly volunteers who serve and care for attendees’ needs

Caregivers are invited to the Pier Building after dropping off their guests and will return in time to watch the crowning ceremony.

Please register for Night to Respite here.

Can I donate my services for the night?

We love partnering with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to make Night to Shine unforgettable! There are several ways to help:

  • Sponsor or donate services – Provide food, flowers, decorations, beauty services, transportation, or other event needs.
  • Give financially – Help cover costs for guest gifts, catering, décor, or volunteer support.
  • Volunteer as a group – Businesses and organizations can send teams to serve as buddies, red carpet greeters, or activity hosts. Each person serving will need to fill out a volunteer application here.

If you’d like to donate, please complete this Donation Form, and a member of our team will reach out to connect with you and share next steps.
