FAQ

We hope these answers to some frequently asked questions will help. If you have any additional questions, please contact your POM or Missions Coordinator.

If my group can't physically serve, what do we do?

You can GIVE! Our mission here is Pray, Give and Go – so if you can’t go – you can give to make this event successful! You can give by clicking here and in the memo add “Serve Your City Day.”

Kassidy mentioned that life groups should identify 3 key leaders for each service site. What if we feel like our life group does not need all three leaders – can we combine these roles?

If your Life Group is smaller and you do not need all three key leaders – then combine them into roles that are important to you!

How do I get my t-shirt for my group?

T-shirts will be available three weeks before the event in Serve Team Central at all our campuses! We are asking for the Event Leader to stop by and get their group shirts before the event.

My group already has a relationship with a ministry partner. Should I reach out to them to serve?

Good news! We have already contacted our ministry partners. You can sign up to serve with them or a different ministry partner by clicking here.

Can People Show Up The Day Of?

YES! We will have on-site serving opportunities for individuals/families that will show up on the day of the event. HOWEVER – we encourage our Life Groups to sign up before the event!

I know a family in need that could really use some help. Who do I tell?

You can tell your group! If your group is already serving somewhere else, please let your POM or Groups Pastor know because another group might be looking for an opportunity to serve.

How long can we expect that we will spend at a serve site?

All serve sites will be different. Some can last 30 minutes while others might last two hours. All serve sites should be completed and cleaned up by 12 PM.

Is there a deadline to communicate information to our POM or Groups Pastor about our serve site choice and who will be the event lead?

The goal is to have all our service sites by October 1. We would encourage all of our Life Groups to find a service site as soon as they can – whether that is coming up with their own site or signing up for an already planned site.

What if our serve site asks us to do something beyond our time or capabilities?

Let the site know you will not be able to do that task, but that you will make note of it and pass it on to the missions team as a future opportunity.

What are some insights we can use to Identify a site for our group?

Think about how you can help people! Whether that’s serving a widow that you know with their yard or house, assisting a neighbor down the street, serving a single mom that needs assistance, or even helping someone in your own Life Group. If you are having trouble finding a place, click here to view the sites.
