FREQUENTLY

ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I expect from the health screening?
Upon arrival, check your child in through the check-in system and then bring them to the classroom indicated on the slip. We will take your child’s temperature at the classroom door using a non-contact thermometer and ask you to review our health guidelines and acknowledge your child is eligible to enter class on this day. In order to check in, your child must:

  • Be symptom-free for three days.
  • 10 days must have passed since first symptoms appeared.
  • 14 days must have passed since exposure to someone with a probable or lab confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.

Possible COVID-19 Symptoms:

  • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0° F
  • Diarrhea
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills/repeated shaking
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Muscle aches

Please be sure to sanitize your station using the provided wipe after completing check-in.

Where does my Grade 4 or 5 child go?

Grade 4 and 5 children will attend worship with their parents. Programming for this age will resume with Groups in the coming weeks.

Can my preschool-age child wear a mask?

Masks are optional, but welcome and encouraged for preschool-age children.

What kind of mask is acceptable?

All children ages Kindergarten and above will be required to wear a face covering while they are in a children’s ministry classroom. Masks, buffs and face shields that cover the nose and mouth are all acceptable.

Can I bring a snack for my child?

For the first six weeks, no food will be provided or allowed in the classroom except for baby bottles. Please make sure your child has eaten before arrival. After six weeks, crackers (for toddlers) and prepackaged snacks may be introduced.

What can I expect in the nursery?

All volunteers will wear masks and smocks in the nursery. When feeding a bottle, volunteers will also wear gloves. We use fresh sheets and sanitize baby beds between each use.

Will classroom space be limited?

Room space is limited by capacity standards. While we hope to have room to welcome every child, we will observe all capacity restrictions based on room space and available volunteer resources. In the event we must limit space, children will be accepted on a first come, first served basis for each age group.

What can I do to prepare my child for what they will experience?
  • Let your child know we will check temperatures at the classroom door and volunteers will be wearing masks.
  • Make sure your child is fed before class since we will not provide any snacks.
  • Label all of your child’s belongings and bring a sippy cup for your child if needed.
  • Grade School-age kids are encouraged to bring their own Bibles.
What can my child expect to be different?
  • Chairs in The Clubhouse will be spaced.
  • Classroom toys and supplies have been adjusted to minimize the spread of germs.
  • Handouts have been reduced. Preschool-age children will still come home with a color sheet.
  • Classroom activities have been modified to be COVID-friendly.
  • Classes will not visit the indoor playground.
Where do I take my child?

Check your child’s check-in slip for their room location. All kids ages Kindergarten–Grade 3 will be in The Clubhouse.

What if my family isn’t able to attend in-person?

We still have great online worship planned for your kids each weekend. Text KIDS to 20411 or join our Facebook Group.
