PARENT DEDICATION

FEBRUARY 18 & 19

Parents of young children, you are invited to participate in these special moments during our weekend services on February 18 & 19.

As you commit to raising your children in a Christ-filled home we know that this commitment can come with hardship. You are not alone! We as a church want to walk alongside you and your child in their journey to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Calling and Make a Difference.

Parent Dedication is where we, as a Lakepointe Family, get to celebrate you and your spouse as you publicly say “yes” to this commitment. Join us for this time of dedication and prayer of blessing over your family.

FAQS

We hope these answers to some frequently asked questions will help. If you have any additional questions, please contact us.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Parent Dedication is a commitment parents are making to raise their child in a God-honoring home. Parents should only take part in this service if they intend to take that commitment seriously. Lakepointe Church is committed to providing the tools, resources and support to parents for this important calling. Parents taking this step should demonstrate a commitment to biblical values through daily decisions and lifestyle. Membership is not required to participate, however, we encourage parents who participate to attend our Next Step Class as part of this commitment, if they have not already done so.
ARE THERE AGE LIMITS TO PARTICIPATE?
Parent Dedication is designed for the parents of young children. Most parents who participate are celebrating a preschool age child. However, if you have not made a commitment regarding your older children and wish to register them as well, you are welcome to do so.
WHO IS ALLOWED ON STAGE?
The parents who are making the Parent Dedication commitment and all of their children (including the child being celebrated) are invited to participate on stage. Grandparents, friends and other family members are invited to find a seat near the stage if they wish, but will not be permitted on stage due to limited stage space.
IS BAPTISM PART OF DEDICATION?
Since the Bible does not teach that infants should be baptized. we do not practice infant baptism at Lakepointe. Parent Dedication is about parents making the commitment to teach their kids what it means to have a relationship with God and trust in Him for their forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that baptism is a step taken by an individual after they have made this important faith decision. We look forward to the day when your child is old enough to understand the gift given by Jesus and make this decision, and we will celebrate baptism at that time.
WILL THERE BE A PARENT ORIENTATION MEETING?
Parent Dedication is a one-day experience with no additional meeting times. All information will be provided in the registration process, as well as in communication sent leading up to dedication day.
