LAKEPOINTE

ADOPTION & FOSTER CARE

Our ministry is passionate about building families through the adoption miracle and showing God’s love to the world’s orphans. We provide help, support and resources to those whom desire to build their families through adoption and activities and events where our community of adoptive familes can connect. Our hope is also, that through our efforts, the unchurched will see the parallels between salvation and the message of adoption.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP

WHAT YOU WILL FIND

󡤌

ENCOURAGEMENT

All of our families have a passion to support and encourage other families through sharing their adoption and foster care stories, prayer and mentorship. As families have questions, need support or even need someone who has been there before them, we try to offer any encouragement we can along their journey.

󡤞

RESOURCES

We provide valuable information about adoption, foster care and all of the different ways families can be involved in the process. We want to help others navigate through this process and use the experiences of others to provide valuable resources. We also provide assistance in different ways to fund an adoption.

󡥍

SUPPORT

We offer support to families in the way of mentoring, support groups and other events and classes offered throughout the year. This allows adoptive families to support each other as well as encourage other families who are considering or beginning the process of adoption and/or foster care.

MINISTRY

FOCUS

Our ministry began as a volunteer ministry in 2005 with four families who had a heart to serve through adoption and orphan service. The ministry has now grown significantly as families have been called to live out James 1:27, and we have had the great privilege of working with many Lakepointe families and other families in our community who are tied together through the common threads of adoption, foster care and serving orphans.

HOW TO PREPARE

FINANCIAL OVERVIEW

One of the major roadblocks in making the decision to adopt or foster a child is the cost. These fees vary greatly due to the many factors that affect them, including: the age of the child, type of adoption, using an attorney, whether the adoption is domestic or international, etc. Our ministry helps provide resources for families to consider so financial elements are not a setback in your decision-making.

TAX REFUNDS & CREDITS

Tax refunds are available as you file your annual tax return.

EMPLOYER BENEFITS

Many employers provide benefits for families who adopt.

SPECIAL NEEDS

The State of Texas offers some assistance for the child’s needs.

MILITARY

Active-duty personnel are eligible for reimbursements.

LOANS & GRANTS

Families may be eligible for a loan or grant.

LAKEPOINTE GRANTS

Our ministry offers a grant funded through contributions.
